Buying & support
How do I buy MEPCO products?
MEPCO sells through independent sales representatives across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, and factory-direct where no office covers a territory. Enter your ZIP in Find a rep, or request a quote and it routes to the covering office automatically.
Can I buy direct from the factory?
Yes — in territories without a representative, and for parts and repair kits. Call (616) 971-3420 or email customerservice@mepcollc.com and inside sales or an application engineer will follow up.
Where are MEPCO products made?
Engineered and manufactured at our plant at 3695 44th Street SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company has built steam specialties continuously since it perfected the thermostatic trap in 1903.
Selecting equipment
How do I size a pump?
Use MEP-FLOW: enter flow in GPM and head in feet and it returns every MEPCO pump that fits, with the curve, best-efficiency point, motor size and operating cost. Print the curve sheet or send it straight to a quote.
Which steam trap do I need?
It depends on the application more than the brand: thermostatic for radiators and convectors, float & thermostatic for coils and heat exchangers under modulating pressure, inverted bucket for steam-main drips, thermodynamic for tracers and outdoor lines. The trap selector applies those rules to your pressures and load and returns a type and connection size.
What is the difference between a condensate return unit and a boiler feed unit?
A condensate unit pumps whenever its receiver fills, on a float switch. A boiler feed unit stores condensate and make-up water and pumps only when the boiler's level control calls for it. Systems with long return times or several boilers usually need boiler feed.
Documents & tools
Where can I find installation manuals, parts lists and submittals?
The Documentation library holds IOM manuals, product literature, parts manuals and tech specs for current and legacy products, searchable by model number. Every product page also lists its own documents.
How do I read a MEPCO model number?
Pump model numbers encode the family and frame, discharge size, horsepower, speed and phase. Paste any MEPCO or Dunham-Bush number into the model decoder for a plain-language breakdown and the matching parts manual.
Legacy equipment & repair
Do MEPCO parts fit Dunham-Bush traps and pumps?
Yes. MEPCO continues the Dunham and Dunham-Bush steam specialty and pump designs, and current cage units, repair kits and pump parts cross-reference to the legacy model numbers. Enter the old number in the decoder or search, or send us a nameplate photo.
Can an old steam trap be repaired instead of replaced?
Usually. MEPCO thermostatic and F&T traps use renewable cage units: remove the cap, swap the cage, and the trap is back to new performance without cutting it out of the piping. Repair kits cover MEPCO and many discontinued competitive traps.
